  1. Too many 3rd shift jobs. After dark, we would be very quiet so those who did work 1st and 3rd could sleep. NYC, for all it’s size, is a city of neighborhoods. Especially since 9/11, people tend to look out for each other. It’s opposite the 70s, when no one cared. When walking down the streets, if anyone driving blew their horn, 20 people would call the cops to report it. Music too loud, same. See a rat, cell phones are out! Now, I don’t know, because with socialists, the innocent are accused first of causing crime. After 9/11 NYC was voted the most people-friendly city.
